The DDR Museum in Berlin Mitte is an eye-opening look at everyday life behind the Iron Curtain. From watching TV in a Communist-era living room to revving a Trabant, this hands-on museum's exhibits present an exploration of former East Germany.

The museum houses an interesting and quirky display which focuses on all aspects of the culture and daily life of the former East Germany's citizens, aiming to provide visitors with a full picture of the era. There are documentaries, a replica living room with working TV, and a kitchen where you can even sniff the spice rack!
