Spending your holidays in Madrid, Spain is delightful and exciting. Many locals buy Christmas trees and hand-made decorations here, and generally mill about in their winter finery, savouring the festive spirit and wishing each other ?Feliz Navidad y Prospero A?o Nuevo? (Merry Christmas and Happy New Year). It is by far that along the busy street of Madrid, lights and decorations are very spectacular especially in the streets of Calle Preciados, next to Puerta del Sol, where in they form huge decorations arches right across the street. The Plaza Mayor market also sells the nativity figurines that Spaniards use to make a ?Belen?. The Belen?s are like giant cribs depicting the nativity scene and there are enormous ones created throughout the city.
