The sparkling new Lisboan Ask Me Centre will help you find accommodation and the staff is happy to dispense advice, maps and brochures. Smaller Ask Me Lisboan kiosks are dotted about the Rossio district and airport and their multilingual staff also have maps and brochures. Lisbon enjoys a Subtropical-Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and very warm summers. Strongly influenced by the Gulf Stream it is one of the mildest climates in Europe. Lisbon is very close to the ocean and that brings windy and fast-changing weather, so you'd better bring a jacket or an umbrella with you, at least in winter, spring and autumn.
Go out at night to the central Bairro Alto, or 'High Neighborhood'. Just up the hill from Chiado, this is the place to go out in town. In the early evening, go to a fado-themed restaurant near the Praca Camoes, and head upwards as the evening goes on. If you're in Lisbon on the night preceding a Feriado or public holiday, you have to check this out. Tiny little streets which are empty in the daytime become crammed walkways which are difficult to get through. Finding a decent sleeping place in the center should not be a big problem. There is a tourist service center in the airport, where the nice ladies will book a room for you. Expect to pay between €45 and €60 for a double room and from €10 to €30 for a dorm or a shared room.

STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Freezing cold and loud rooms, filthy blankets that I think I might have picked up some extra travellers from (I've been itching since the first night there), disgusting bathrooms, no hot water, internet was down, NO ONE AT THE RECEPTION between 8 PM and 10 AM, so if something goes wrong (like all of the toilet paper running out at 1 AM, there's no one to help). Fleabag hotel. |

It would have been nice to add a little more details to the map - like the fact that it goes uphill quite a bit! But it was a very nice guesthouse, would definitely book there again! :) |

This hotel is up a very very steep hill. we went with friends their room was ok ours was not it was tiny and the shower was broken off the wall so you had to use it as a hand held on so there was no control of it either hot or cold the toilet seat kept coming off. breakfast was a rip off.one of the good things was the roof were at night you could go and sit . |

Dear administrators of HOSTELSCLUB.COM, I do wonder how you have this place in your list of hostels! You should check what you offer! I cannot imagine how an AWFUL, DIRTY, SMELLY AND MISERABLE PLACE like this can exist in 21-st century! I am just speechless about it! As a regular client of your site I do recommend to you to just delete this place from your list and never in future desinform people about it. My rating is a mere zero, but you don not have such a percent. It was money paid absolutely in vain for a stay in this otherwise marvelous city of Lisbon. I do believe that you will consider my opinion! Have my very best regards! |

I'm quite unsatisfied with both the hostel the service that Hostelsclub provided. I made a reservation to AWA Lisbon Hostel Imperial and when I got there I found out that the place was in fact overbooked and that they had no previous knowledge of my reservation. The hostel's owners called to a nearby hostel that luckily had available rooms. However, the owners of the hostel said that they considered that the money I paid in advance as payment for that service of finding me a place to stay... classy. I wrote an email to Hostelsclub explaining the situation and I was told that this is in fact a common practice in this kind of situations, i.e., that the 10% fee is not reimbursed if the hostel's administrators "provide" the client a similarly budgeted place to stay, relegating all responsibility to the hostel's administrators. So both, the hostel and Hostelsclub refused to reimburse money paid in advance for a service that was never given. One more thing: the hostel's address is mislocated in the map. |

Pros: - good position w.r.t. city centre and metro stations - comfortable, clean, quiet and recently renewed rooms - low price Cons: - neighbourhood a little degraded, but safe also at night - lift is small (1 person) and often broken - toilet paper and towels not automatically replaced, remember to ask - breakfast a little poor |

Heureusement que notre séjour s'arrétait là :-( To be honest it's clean, they're friendly, nice balcony for smokers, but the smell in the bathroom... Oh my gosh !! They should renovate it or do something. |

With this hostal you get what you pay for. The hostal is small and the rooms are quite tiny. The bathroom can be found in the room and is made out of some sort of glass, meaning that you can kind of look through it (depending on with who you are travelling, this might be a bit uncomfortable). Clean towels were provided every day and internet is free of charge. The centre can be reached by bus in 15 minutes. |
