Lisbon, Portugal (Guesthouse)

I didn't saty at the pensão Royal. I arrived one day before and went there to check the place. Lots of stairs, impossible for my age everyday have to use so many stairs. A nice and educated girl showed me the bedroom. Too tiny, so lost one day payment reservation but prefered to cancel.

The people that makes the place, Paula certainly made our stay there first class and it feels just like home at Pensao Royal! With her great and fresh bakery and the endless guide and reminders, our holiday in Lisboa was nothing less than wonderful! Thank you Paula! We'll be back soon!

great location and really good hostel. Only complaint is that we were 3 people and only received one key, which made doing sepertate activities difficult because we couldn't come and go as we pleased, and the staff said that there would always be someone there and there wasn't.

This hostel is not a party hostel, it is more a home away from home. We stayed twice for altogether 5 nights with our 8 month old son, had both times a very quiet room (and a baby bed!) with view of the Botanical Garden. Large kitchen & bathroom. Great staff, esp. Surin who gave us amazing advice for experiencing Lisboa and Portugal a little off the tourist tracks. Thanks very much, will gladly come back! Also thanks for keeping our bags safe for 5 days while we were gone!

Thank you very very much for everything! The Hostel is really good and nice to stay in! The staff is helpful and understanding! The location as perfect! There is a net, kitchen and it is clean! What else can you possibly need in a hostel? Map - yes! Table games - yes! Wonderful! This is a nice clean welcoming hostel in a good location. I stayed with my girl friend just a night and liked its cleanlyness, staff. Bad points are there are no kitchen, no atmosphere interms of meeting other people. It was not a problem for us as just wanted nice safe clean place for ourself so we enjoyed. Hope this helps.

We stayed on the other side of street at Residencial de Sul. Very clean, recently renovated, very pleasant. Nice staff, good value for money. Not a party shack, but warmly recommend for adult travellers. Area was a bit shady, but no problem with us.

I recommend this place. Clean rooms with wash-hand basin, common bathroom and kitchen, but never too crowded. Friendly staff and close to the centre and metro.

I really liked the hostal. I was surprised to find it so clean and the lady was so friendly. She opened the door for us very early in the morning. I would definately go back again.

Dear administrators of HOSTELSCLUB.COM, I do wonder how you have this place in your list of hostels! You should check what you offer! I cannot imagine how an AWFUL, DIRTY, SMELLY AND MISERABLE PLACE like this can exist in 21-st century! I am just speechless about it! As a regular client of your site I do recommend to you to just delete this place from your list and never in future desinform people about it. My rating is a mere zero, but you don not have such a percent. It was money paid absolutely in vain for a stay in this otherwise marvelous city of Lisbon. I do believe that you will consider my opinion! Have my very best regards!

location is great. Of course when you are in the middle of the city there will be noise which did not bother me.

Modeste mais propre étant donné qu'ils passent tous les jours. En plus on a un balcon dans chaque chambre! Et on est proche du métro. Le seul hic je dirai c'est que les salles de bain ont été directement construites dans les chambres et ne sont séparées que par un rideau coulissant, de plus le récupérateur (au niveau des wc) n'est pas changé chaque jour alors après 3 nuits je ne vous dit pas l'odeur. Franchement on ne pouvait plus rester dans la chambre. Heureusement que notre séjour s'arrétait là :-( To be honest it's clean, they're friendly, nice balcony for smokers, but the smell in the bathroom... Oh my gosh !! They should renovate it or do something.

With this hostal you get what you pay for. The hostal is small and the rooms are quite tiny. The bathroom can be found in the room and is made out of some sort of glass, meaning that you can kind of look through it (depending on with who you are travelling, this might be a bit uncomfortable). Clean towels were provided every day and internet is free of charge. The centre can be reached by bus in 15 minutes.

Good location and a GREAT apartment! Fully equiped kitchen, really nice backyard, washing machine free of charge. Only problem (BIG ONE) was the room we got-with just 1 window, that opened up to a shaft, with the downstairs restaurants ventilationsystem next to the window. No fans in the room, meaning that, even though we got a BIG fan (which we left there), we did not get any sleep for the whole week. The internet was really bad, and they did not fix it when we asked. But in a different room, and not in July-the hostel is perfect!!

we had a great stay there. the personal is really nice and take care of you. it was really clean. nice garden, kitchen with all the furniture you can need. and the mattress was soo comfortable !
