At our arrival we were shocked! We booked the room room with double bed and private bathroom, but this room was not cleaned yet. Alessandro was not at home and his girlfriend was unable to clean it. She called him twice and after waiting about half an our he arrived finally and cleaned the room, but he forgot to clean the floor! It was really dirty! After the description from hostels.com we renounced to take breakfast there. There was a table in his living room where you can eat some cereals. Not really nice! Some evenings there was music played by his girlfriend loudly. But there were of course good things: The room was small but nice. A small double bed and a nice small TV were inside. The bathroom was okay. The way to the Vatican was short. You can reach it in 10 minutes. Alessandro was friendly and helped us a lot to have a nice trip in Rome and showed us a way to the most important buildings there. And we reached everything by foot, only for the way to the central station we used the metro. The location was also very nice, we had very nice breakfasts in the cafes near the hostel, and we bumped in a really typical market, for the Italian citizens, not for tourists. By forgetting the arrival all in all it was a nice trip, but next time I would choose another apartment.

SOLVEIGA From Lithuania On November 30, -0001

The room was quite nice and clean, we've got the one with the private bathroom. But the kitcehn was messy, with a terrible smell coming out from the fridge and the sink full of dishes from the previous day. The owner's family with a small child lives at the same flat, eats at the same living room, leaves their upper clothes and shoes at the table we had to eat. Yes, you need to prepare breakfast yourself, have your own coffee, and even cups for it (there were no aproppriate cups), you can cook but that's not nice in a messy kitchen. So this is not the real B&B. But that's Italy and you don't know what to expect! The owner Allesandro was nice to reccomend us some places to visit, we've got a map of Rome. The position of a place was a bit too far for us, cause we've been walking only by foot. But that's a quiet place, so good for a good rest. So the price is ok for the value you get cause you come here only to sleep over and leave early in the morning.

When we arrived at the right place (Via Rattazzi 2F), there wasn't any label which said "Carpe Diem B&B". We asked somebody and they said that it wasn't there anymore. Then we called the number which was on the reservation. The man said, that someone would come in 5 minutes. Indeed someone else came and told us that we would get another room. It was quite near to Via Rattazzi 2F, but I think it was even better. (air condition, private bathroom and toilett, nice breakfast). The location is really good and in the end we had a great room, but it was a bit strange, that there wasn't any "Carpe Diem B&B".

First the good things: Its in a good location and very cheap, you can get quickly to colosseum and the metro stations of vitorio emanuele and termini. Now the bad things: The hostel lacks any kind of decoration at all, its too bland, but well is a hostel so its not something really important (as a recomendation, a few paintings or plants would solve this a little and is not that difficult). I wouldnt say the walls are dirty, but they are not clean either. The staff was friendly but some times that we needed them they were not available (breakfast and check out). The showers were not in a good situation, they were not dirty, but the doors were usually broken and few water was coming out of it. The bed does too much noise, it creaks a lot and the matress is very thin. The main door was also in a very bad situation. Overall: It adjusts to the price. I think that if they solved that problems they would be a very good hostel. If you dont want much luxury and you are looking for somewhere to spend the night while you visit the city, this one is probably one of the best options.

Istvan From Hungary On November 30, -0001

Good location (close to metro, Termini, Colosseum, churches), but strange people and much litter on the neighbouring streets. Thin walls. Clean, but very modestly furnished room. Three bathrooms, all had moldy ceilings, water pressure and temperature problems, small towel. One croissant + one drink breakfast in a bar some hundred meters away. Friendly owner, staff. May be good for a short trip.

I would have stayed but the owner decided to charge more to move me from dorm to private room. It wouldn't be too bad if he at least negotiated it down to $40.00 since many hotels were available and within city center. The walk to bus station was a bit risky but I'll give the owner a credit for having a secured place, clean and a kitchen with cappucino maker. There is just no receptionist to get information and it's hard to call from a foreign phone.

The owner was very rude. Had a big fight with him. Breakfast was okay. We were brought to somekind of place and it was not the B n B Dante..it was somewhere not really near to the train station. And was having trouble finding the place. The staff was a bit unhyegienic; digging his nose while putting the bed linen..wouldn't really recommend the hostel to others.

Once we got there with our reservations, a drunk, smelly sleazy old man with his stomach hanging out of his shirt told us there was no room and handed us a map. He pointed to another hostel entirely across Rome and didn't give us a name. Sent us on a wild goose chase, just to get lost and not even find the hostel! MammaMia itself was dingy and gross- no decorations or anything. Not recommended! Also in a very bad part of town.

José Paulo From Brazil On November 30, -0001

We were robbed there!!! They don't have lockers, the only thing good is the position, very near from the Coliseum and the Stazione Termini.
