Info & Description
Fantoni brother and sister, have decided to use part of their family villa in Florence, which dates back to the end of the nineteenth century, to give guests a high class Bed and Breakfast accommodation choice.
\nIt's really the best place to choose for lodging, while visiting Florence and its surroundings, enjoying an invaluable atmosphere of tranquillity and harmony.
\nGiusy and Antonio offer their guests warmth and spontaneity so that their stay at B&B Villa La Sosta is like a “home away from home”.
\nThe name of this elegant bed & breakfast is linked to the road that the gardens look onto: Via Bolognese. It is the oldest postal road crossing the Tuscan Apennines and today gives convenient access to Florence from the most charming residential area around the city.
\nIn one direction it leads to the city centre, but in the other, this road, which starts from the ancient gate of S. Gallo at Ponte Rosso, leads up the Pellegrino hill and continues through the hills of Pietra and Lastra, Trespiano and Pratolino.
\nHere, once past the park of the Medici villa of the same name, it leaves Florence behind it and continues upwards to Futa, in the direction of Bologna, through valleys, ridges and mountains.
\nVilla La Sosta, which in the past was part of a more extensive property on the Montughi hill, is surrounded by large gardens with cypress and fruit trees; the building itself is elegant and sober, enriched by architectural elements recalling the eclectic style of the beginning of the 1900s, like the main bow-window entrance and the tower-mansard which gives a view of the surrounding hillside.
\nGiusy and Antonio offer three double rooms, a triple room and a quadruple room, bright and quiet, some of these furnished with period pieces from the 1800s, all with private bathrooms and independent entrance. A comfortable lift will take you up to the windowed-attic where you can admire a breathtaking view of the surrounding hillside.
\nThe continental breakfast is served in the spacious and elegant hall in colder months and in the garden, under an ivy pergola, in the summer. We can serve glutin-free breakfasts.
\nThere is also a billiard room and a suggestive and panoramic windowed attic where guests can relax, read, play cards, watch television or listen to music. Private car park inside the grounds.
