Berlin Cathedral stands proudly in the city centre, surrounded by state museums. Inside, look up at the new dome interior, the last mosaic piece of which was only put in place in 2002. Climb to the top for panoramic city views.
In 1944 the cathedral's dome was completely destroyed by a fire bomb and it was another four years before the cathedral bells were heard once more. It took until 1980, however, for the dome to be rebuilt so that the cathedral could function again as a place of worship. Upstairs, a whole floor is dedicated to the history of the building.
