The hotel location is very convenient, where closes by the metro station, and around 10 minutes walk to the Atocha train station. The room is very clean, and the staffs are nice, however, there is no air conditioning in my room during the stay.

  2. Marko From Finland On November 30, -0001

Clean rooms, helpful staff, near Atocha station. Very good hostel. Some noises from the road can be heard during the night time.

  3. Kritzia Liz From Puerto Rico On November 30, -0001

Un hostal limpio, bastante cómodo y cerca de la estación de trenes. Las personas de recepción muy antipaticas y parecia que no querian recibir a nadie. Poca amabilidad y servicio.

    It worths its price

Great location, right next to the metro station (Antón Martin) and just a 10 minute walk from Prado and Plaza Mayor. The building and the stairs are very old which might scare you a bit in the beginning and the plumbing makes some noise. However, the rooms are very clean and comfortable and the owners are very friendly. Towels are changed every day. I would stay there again if I were in Madrid.

thankyou for heating my flask hot water for tea each day.

We got the room facing Calle de Atocha, so it was quite noisy. Bed was quite small and squeaking, otherwise everything was fine. Good place for budget stay in Madrid, with perfect communication

the staff the one member of staff i delt with was very friendly. the place was clean and cozy. location is perfect. i think it is slightly different than location on map, therefor easier to follow the buliding number once you are in C. de Atocha. it is a normal bulding the 1st floor flat is where the reception is located and i was taken to the 2nd floor to another flat to where some rooms are. don't be put off by the staircase, as i intially thought that it refelected the quality of the. by the way internet wifi only works in the corridor near the door to the flat. it was perfect for the budget traveler

I like this hostel - very good position! market across the road, metro in some steps, patisseria -next door, Prado -10 min, Puerto del Sol 15 min, Atocha 10 min, very good stuff, do not speaking Englis though, I will stay here on my next trip to Madrid and recommend it to my friends. Great Location. Old building but cozy rooms and clean bathrooms. Not very good noise isolation. Though very good for the price.

Our stay in the Hostal Riviera was fine, can’t say anything wrong about it. Considering the price for the room, it is really decent. Suitable for those looking for a cheap place to stay over night after a long day of sightseeing. Private bathroom, TV (Spanish channels only, but enough to check the weather forecast), everyday service: beds made, floor mopped, fresh towels – you can’t demand more for this amount of money. We were lucky to get the room overlooking an inner yard, not the noisy Atocha street. The owners are nice and friendly people, quite traditional in the way they run their hostel and not speaking English (except for one man who could make himself understood while checking us in). We didn’t mind (it was a good occasion to practice some Spanish), but could be a drawback in case of any problems.

Not luxury, but clean and acceptable place, worth the money you pay. At walking distance to most remarkable places in the city.

  15. Piotr From Poland On November 30, -0001

Really very, very clean... Very nice people speaking Spanish only, but having no problems to understand what you want if you smart enough to show your needs. Few cheap food stores and market around. For us, being over 55 and liking some kind of comfort was very good. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

  16. Juan Carlos From Mexico On November 30, -0001

Great location. It looks like a very old building, but the rooms are very nice, practically a small hotel.

  17. Hanne From Finland On November 30, -0001

Adorable place with lovely owner (about 70 years old lady). Very good location (btw if you go to the hostel by metro from the airport use the Anton Martin station!). Owner doesn't speak any English so lear few basic phrases in Spanish.

We are very satisfied by the service and the hostel itself. It was pleasure and a great experience to stay in hostel Rivera. Location was perfect too.

Very basic hostal run by an old woman. Our room had a balkony right at the road yet hardly much noise from cars at all. Our badroom was big compared to our friends' room, so that depends on the room you get. But all the rooms were very clean. Besides that the old lady will give you the key to the front door, so you can come and go whenever you like. Overall a very good hostal with a friendly hostess, a good location but basic facilities, don't expect a diningroom but you do get wifi.
