Very cheap in low season. Well situated. You can field like at home. It's not basic service. It is discrete and day-to-day attention to cleanliness and comfort. The lady is talkative admist you speak spanish but if not you will appreciate the human way she takes care of you.

  2. Zoltan From Hungary On November 30, -0001

All in all: 100%! It may sound too positive, but as I read through many other hostel comments I could easily say this place was just perfect. The lady speaks English (which is a very significant factor!), is very kind and helpful! + The hostel is situated next to a metro station right in the heart of the city (3 minute walk) + The room in which we stayed was very nice and cozy, and the staff (the lady!) cleans it every day! + It wasn't noisy at all. There was no cooker so we couldn't cook but there was a fridge and a micro so we could store and heat our food. So on the whole we had a very pleasant stay in Hostel Castilla! 2 people from Hungary

Perfect Location in the centre of Madrid and close to a metro station (1-2 minutes to walk). Bathrooms (shared) are clean and the staff is friendly and open to any demands you have! The single bed rooms can be quite small so that you don`t want to spend your day inside there, but they contain everything you need and are clean as well. Furthermore there is room service every day! If the use of internet is important for you, I would advice you to contact the hostel so that they reserve a room for you where CONSTANT internet connection is possible. I enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cheap, clean and friendly stay.

Great accomodation for that price. Although rooms are small, if you don't want to spend your day in the hostel, it's enough. Otherwise if you want to, then try the Ritz. The lady cleaned up and made the beds every morning and she was very helpful. The house is and old and authentic building close to the Plaza Mayor and other places worth seeing.

  6. Yana From Bulgaria On November 30, -0001

Very nice place with very nice service. The location was perfect for us as it is withing walking distance to most of Madrid's sights. We were satisfied with our experience there and we will certainly use Hostal Castilla's services again ;)

The "Castilla" Hostal is located in the heart of the city. It is very quiet, clean and pleasant place. Householder is extremely kind and helpful, and has reacted immediately solving my requirements. It was a pleasure to stay there, 200 m from picturesque Plaza Santa Barbara and cafes there.

Very clean hostel in a nightlife area with bars and restaurants.2 streets away from gran via. Normal bathroom as shared bathoom, every day a new shower curtain. Staff told os hostel was fully booked, but I haven't heard any other guests.

small hostal, not luxurious but for that price ok, good to know spanish, they give me information, when I asked. it was really warm in the winter (because before I was afraid if i would be cold in my room). It was really quiet, but that is dependent on the other guests, because it is clairaudient. there is a kitchen with fridge, microwave and dishes, you can use. The negative point is just that there ist not always wifi when you need it!

  11. Hans From Netherlands On November 30, -0001

Price/ Quality is perfect. Very nice staff. Clean room. Near Matro station and walking distance from city center. Noisy streetlife betwen 2.00 AM and 4.00 AM. I would recommend it to very one.

  12. Kathryn From USA On November 30, -0001

Just stopped on my way home before the airport, so I didn't have time to take advantage of the central location. Note it's a 3rd floor walk up no elevator, but staff helped.

I needed a place on very short notice and was SO happy I ended up in this hostal. Finding the place was not easy (only small sign at the side of the door), climbing the stairs to the third floor was not entirely fun. But that was the end of the negative experiences with the place. The room was very small, but I didn't expect anything different: it was cheap! What really surprised me was how spotlessly clean EVERYTHING was! Walking distance to the center of town. Very friendly staff. I will definitely go back there!

perfect position, next to tribunal and bilbao the best places to hang out in Madrid! And always remain cool with the staff, you get your life easier. Prices are good for what you get.

We had a bad experience in Hostal Castilla because the staff is not customer-friendly. We originally reserved a room for 2 persons, but later on had changed plans to occupy 2 rooms for 4 persons. When we arrived 12 midnight at the hotel and requested for additional room good for 2 persons, the staff was not accomodating to our request and even commented negatively. For a tourist like us, we were sent out in the unfamiliar streets in the middle of the night is a horrible experience.
