Thin walls so you can pretty much hear everything in the other rooms. I would recommend it to heavy sleepers only. Other than that it's great!

  2. Lucija From Croatia On November 30, -0001

Great location, next to the lovely and lively Puerte del Sol. Hostel owner is a very friendly and pleasant person, who let us exchange our room to a room with a balcony so that we can smoke on the balcony. TV in room had a lot of great channels.

  3. Janaina From Brazil On November 30, -0001

It's not so clean but the advantage is that the downtown, near all the museums. If you are in Madrid during the summer, don't go there, the rooms are very hot.

  4. Yana From Bulgaria On November 30, -0001

Pleasant place on a very good location, but nothing special.

Apart from the location which was great (other than the fact that it wasn’t advertised at all so it took a while to find) the time spent at the hostel wasn’t particularly pleasant. The showers were good and they had free internet but the owner was very very rude and shouted at customers for trivial things. She insisted on being very quiet yet in the mornings she was extremely loud and waked people up (very hypocritical). She threatened to kick us out for struggling to unlock the door at night because it was too loud and threatened to kick us out about three out of the four nights we were there and we didn’t do anything wrong. She also knocked the door repeatedly while I was showering to then make me stand in the kitchen/living area to shout at me for my friend knocking on the door earlier because it woke her up, the whole time I was just stood there in a towel. It was humiliating, uncalled for and very up in your face as if she was trying to intimidate you. After check out we were also shouted at for the tiniest dirty mark on the towel they had provided for where she claimed we stamped on it and that we should pay for them because she couldn’t wash them when it was barely a mark and would very easily come out in the wash. While the price and location was good, I seriously wouldn’t recommend this hostel if you want to have any sort of good time and not feel like you’re at a boarding school where you can’t do anything.

Hostal Bahia's rooms are VERY clean and spacious. They even have a TV and sink in each room! It also provides free internet wifi and a computer for everyone's use. The only downside is that the walls are extremely thin and the worker can be a bit too loud in the morning. It is in a very central location (up the street from Sol Square), so overall, it's definitely worth it.

Very good location! Clean hostel with nice staff!

  8. Marša From Slovenia On November 30, -0001

The hostel is really nice and is located in the center of Madrid. Best location ever. The lady is very talky and nice. But in the rooms is VERY HOT. I woke up sweaty every day.

  9. DI ZHANG, ZHENRONG From China On November 30, -0001

This is a really nice room. The location is quite convenice.

  10. Stephanie From Netherlands On November 30, -0001

Ehm... actually, they had problems with the sink, so they arranged another stay at the Gislay hostel 2 floors higher. That was oke! Make sure you book the room at the streetside with a shower, because the other has no windows and is really depressing. Great location, good price. The staff is really friendly, thanks!

  11. Rogelio From Mexico On November 30, -0001

i totally recomend this hostel, it has a great position, it's clean, and the staff is very nice, and everything for a good price, i stayed in a single private room and maybe it was a little bit small but you don´t need anything bigger if you only want to sleep in a clean well positioned and cheap place =) TOTALLY RECOMEND IT

  12. Bram From Belgium On November 30, -0001

Nice place, very friendly staff and excellent price-quality ratio. It is located very well in the center and it is perfect if you don't mind some noise since it is in the middle of the outgoing area (which for us was great!)

  13. Karel From Netherlands On November 30, -0001

We had a good time in Hostal Bahia. The management is friendly and helpful. The beds were good. We could not prevent the noise coming in from the street in spite of closed windows and shutters, but by using earplugs we had a good sleep.

  14. Judith From Italy On November 30, -0001

It was a very nice hostel with a great location. The only bad thing was that our room was right next to the toilets and showers, so that we could hear everything. But it was very clean, the staff was friendly and the location perfect.

  15. Luigi From Italy On November 30, -0001

The furniture is a little too mixed (I mean it doesn't have a defined style) but coloured and nice.Plastic flowers should be avoided...

  16. Engelina From Netherlands On November 30, -0001

+ Hostal Bahia is a very good hostal, with a friendly staff. The hostal is located in the centre of the centre. - no toilet in the room

We were quite satisfied with the hostel. The Spanish couple were friendly and kind. They provided us with free maps and showed us the way to the nearest supermarket. The location is just in the center of Mardrid and we could easily walk to most of the places we wanted to visit. In addition, our room faced the busy street but we were not troubled by the noise outside. It was quiet inside. The only thing that worried us was that we could not help hearing the sound from the next room. In a word, we like it.

This hostel is very clean and the showers are new and very nice. You get free towels and the landlady cleans the rooms every day, which is rare in most hostels. It a nice place to stay in, but quite noisy due to a lively street in the front and not very thick walls. Still very recommendable, especialy for their price/quality balance.
