Great hostel right in the heart of Temple Bar. Clean and well appointed, but no air conditioning or fans, which is a problem if it’s hot out. It’s also right in the middle of all the action, which is only a problem if you require sleep.

  2. Marc-Andre From Canada On November 30, -0001

Very clean, staff very friendly and helpful, directly located in the heart of the city. In the room I was in, there was no noise at night, besides from the couple in the bed under me who probably thought I was asleep... But there is nothing the hsotel can do about it. ;)

  3. Adrienne From USA On November 30, -0001

I really enjoyed the location of this hostel but it wasn´t my favorite hostel in Dublin. The staff were incredible.

  4. Lydia From USA On November 30, -0001

The location next to Temple Bar may be good if you're up for a night out, but it makes it very difficult to get any sleep!

  5. Cecilia From Italy On November 30, -0001

it was the best hostel in which I stayed in Ireland! and I changed six hostels... Be ever the same :D

  6. Johannes From Germany On November 30, -0001

a little bit loud but placed in one of the nicest areas of Dublin!

  7. Adam From USA On November 30, -0001

Barnacles is centrally located, clean and has lovely staff. It is noisy, despite what the staff do to keep it quiet. Between the busy street and the large number of guests, it never really quiets down. Rooms and common rooms were in top shape. Overall a great stay!

  8. Barbara From Poland On November 30, -0001

Very good location, close to the bars (just underneath). Very good for people who are looking lot of fun and do not want to walk a lot to city center.

  9. Enrica From Italy On November 30, -0001

Staff is prepared, the kitchen is equipped, position is perfect; they even have am emergency shop if you have missed something at home! Faults: noise on Temple Bar and meagre breakfast.

  10. Sabina From Germany On November 30, -0001

The position is absolutely amazing to go out and have fun. If you need information about anything the friendly staff will help you. I had a great time!

  11. Peter From Netherlands On November 30, -0001

The perfect location for visiting Dublin Centre, Temple Bar, pubs, etc. The staff is very helpfull and the atmosphere is good. Rooms are little sober, but good enough. I had a good time.

  12. Tawny From USA On November 30, -0001

I stayed here for 2 1/2 weeks and loved it. It was very clean (they vacuum the halls and rooms, clean the bathrooms, kitchen and halls every day). And the staff are all helpful and friendly. It's also very centrally located, but it's very noisy at night due to the bars around it, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper!

  13. Carolina From Spain On November 30, -0001

Thank you for a wonderfull hostal!

  14. Alan From Canada On November 30, -0001

Great location near Temple Bar, well-run front desk, very clean rooms. Enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

  15. Natasha From New Zealand On November 30, -0001

A great place to stay and see the sights. The security factor was brilliant, especially if traveling alone. Definitely the place to stay while in Dublin.

  16. Edgar Eduardo From Mexico On November 30, -0001

Its a very good place with a friendly staff and the location is excellent, you can find easily anything what you need.

  17. JAN From Germany On November 30, -0001

Really good to stay a long time

  18. Adrian From USA On November 30, -0001

Only complaint I have is that the common areas close from midnight till 0700. It would be nice to have a place to hang out after the bars close.

  19. jazmin From Mexico On November 30, -0001

the hostel was perfect, thank u

I have stayed in a number of hostels around Europe, and Barnacles was one of the best. The location is very convenient for anything you want to do in Dublin, and it is close to the train station if you're going further afield. It is noisy at night because the area is very crowded with bars full of folks singing Old Lang Syne, but if you're in the bar it isn't a concern.
