Info & Description

Located on the Buda side, close to Castle Hill, where you find the most important historic sites, like the Buda Castle, the Royal Palace, the National Gallery, the only remains of Budapest old town, along with museums, cafés, restaurants, etc, Grand Hostel Budapest and it´s staff are waiting for you with a COOL WELCOME DRINK of your choice. Have a glass of cool draft beer (or anything else) and a few minute rest in the garden after the long hours on the road or a long day in the city-jungle.
We are looking forward to meeting you, listening to your story, and ready to explain what you should see in Budapest. We give you FREE BUDAPEST MAPS and lots of infos about public transport, culture, concerts, nightlife, food, etc.
Feel like taking part in bike tours, bub crawls, walking tours, alternative sight-seeing trips? Feel like going to one of the great Budapest baths and enjoy the healing mineral waters? Would you like to see something from our dark communist era?
We will help you to get around.

Grand Hostel Budapest is a colorful place, full of life, designed by a renowned artist.
Comfortable doubles for couples, nice singles, triples and colorful dorms for individuals and groups.
Although the bathrooms are shared, but they are HOME-LIKE BATHROOMS for single use, closable, nice and clean, each one in another style.

The BAR-CAFETERIA downstairs in the reception lounge is waiting for you with the best kind of coffee, teas, soft drinks, wines, spirits and COOL BEER ON DRAFT. It is open as long as you wish to enjoy it.
In this hostel you WELCOME TO PARTY and sing-along and feel good, the neighbors don´t complain, we don´t complain, and you don´t bother the quiet ones, having some rest in the rooms upstairs. Sometimes you can enjoy concerts and dj-s in the house.

In the season we make a COOKOUT PARTY EVERY WEDNESDAY, sometimes more often, when we cook TRADITIONAL HUNGARIAN FOOD in the garden on open fire. At least once in your life you must taste something from the famous Hungarian cuisine.
The weakpoint of our hostel is that there is no kitchen where you can cook, but there is a fridge where you can keep your stuff, and we give you plates, knifes, forks, etc, and you can also use the fireplace in the garden for barbecues.

FREE PARKING right at the entrance for the drivers.
BIKES FOR RENT – even for a half a day – for the riders.
FREE INTERNET AND WIRELESS INTERNET access.
Need to do your LAUNDRY? No problem, we do it for you.
Need to iron, or dry your hair? No problem either.
Need tram/bus tickets? We have some.

We are waiting for you.

I truly enjoyed our stay here! The staff was friendly and nice, the rooms were clean and the downstairs lobby/lounge just lovely! Will definitely come back for a night or two in the summer time to enjoy the garden too.

Very nice hostel but a bit out of the centre, if you want to go into town you have to use the tram, then the metro. Free internet, only one computer between everyone. Good generally.

The hostel itself was great; the staff was awesome and the services were great. Location was a bit out of the city but it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. The loud road by the hostel does hinder sleep at night though...

HOTEL WAS FINE,ROOMS ARE OK FOR A DAY OR TWO DUE TO BEDS WICH IN MY CASE WHERE 4 IN A SMALL ROOM SO NOT VERY COMFI I WANTED A TRIPLE OTHER THAN THAT WAS FINE, YOU SHOULD UPDATE THE HOW TO GET THERE TIPS AS THERE ARE NOT AT ALL AS I READ ON YOUR PAGE, TRAM ROUTE IS DIFERENT... When I arrived to the Hostel I thought: "where I am?And where is the city?"I was wrong: hostel is in a quiet area, but near to public transport (tram and bus) at every hour. Rooms are small but beautiful and colourful, bathroom is clean, temperature is warm (very important in December!).Good additional services: internet free, bar with music (also live).
