Info & Description

The A&O München Hackerbrücke opened in April 2006 and in May 2010 the lobby was expanded. The hotel has 200 rooms, all with their own balcony, shower or bathtub. On the rooftop of the house there is a bar with a comfy terrace, which invites guests to relax and take in the breath-taking view over the roofs of Munich.
The A&O München Hackerbrücke is just one intra-city train station from the Central Station and is easy to reach by train. Due to its central location the Altstadt can be easily reached by going for a small walk from the A&O and it is thus also the ideal starting point for excursions into the city.
Almost all of the rooms in the A&O Hackerbrücke have their own bathtub inviting you to have a relaxing bath and every room has a balcony. The hotel's own rooftop terrace and bar offers a sensation panorama view – in good weather even to the Alps – and invites guests to sit back and relax. For those arriving by car we offer underground parking which stops the never-ending search for the right parking spot, especially in Munich.

The hostel is near to the bus station but far from the city center. It’s not clean and no staff for showering. The room has no lockers which is weird.

  2. Andrea From South Africa On November 30, -0001

Me and my friend stayed for two nights and really liked it, we felt safe and comfortable in the female only dorms. The beds were really comfortable and the staff were really helpful. The breakfast was really good and worth the money for all you can eat. It was in a very good place because it was only about 15 minutes to the bus and train station and there is a shop right around the corner if you need to buy food. We really enjoyed our time there and would stay there again if we went back.

  3. Vanishtabye From Mauritius On November 30, -0001

The room was not tidied. I do not understand why we should still buy bed covers and linen on top of price. One night I got a room where somebody had puked into the tub. I asked them to clean it and then they changed my room. I got a bed in basement where the last spare bed was full of those dirty covers and linens! Disgusting!!!

  4. JIATAO From Portugal On November 30, -0001

The hostel is okay but the sheets are a little bit dirty. The location is great though.

  9. Domingos From Portugal On November 30, -0001

  12. Carla Adriana From Brazil On November 30, -0001

  13. vanessa From Italy On November 30, -0001

This hostel is the main one in Munich and it's very busy, so you will not have mucht time to ask for an information or a service at the reception. The price is ok for what you get, it just would be nice if at least the use of internet is included. At last, there isn't the air conditioned, which means you can't really stay long and hope to sleep during summer!

  14. Alexander From Ireland On November 30, -0001

It was ok, the quality of the mattres not really good, very helpfull staff, the first room where I stayed in, the bathroom was dirty. Well located.

This place was in crisis. I hope for their sake, and the sake of their guests, that it is only temporary. The cleaning company they use had gone bankrupt and didn't show up to clean on the day I checked in. They only "cleaned" the bathroom once in the 4 days I was in my mixed dorm there. The bathroom on the bottom floor had some kind of flooding problem and there was poop everywhere. On top of this, the hallways smell like a sweaty guy who left his clothes in the washing machine for too long. I think this is a permanent problem. This place is what gives hostels a bad name. I had never had a truly bad experience at a hostel until this place. If it hadn't been for Sebastian, the cool, patient, empathetic and kind front desk worker, I would have hated this place completely. I wish he worked at a nice hostel because he is too good for this place. Thankfully, Munich is amazing and as long as I was out and about, I didn't think about my terrible hostel. If you had a choice between staying here or not staying in Munich at all, I would take the gamble that maybe they would get their S*** together in time for your arrival.

Everything worked, things were only smelly if your roommate was smelly. The place was loud but I have to fault the guests and not the hostel for that. (lots of highschool groups coming through while I was there.) Overall good and would recommend/stay again.

  17. Livia From Brazil On November 30, -0001

The internet reminds me internet from the 90's. Shower's temperature ranges from boiling hot to cold in a matter of seconds. You seriously need to hire more staff for the reception, and give them better working conditions (aka: chairs). And stop pretending you are also a hotel, because you are not.

  18. Margaret From USA On November 30, -0001

Had a good experience staying at the hostel although it always seemed to be low staffed so we would always be waiting for service

  19. Antoine From Canada On November 30, -0001

This hostel feels very much like an hotel. The wifi was horrible. The rooms and showers were clean. It is quite far from the train station and from the city center. Better use trams to get there the first time around.

  20. SANGMIN From South Korea On November 30, -0001

    Dity. that's all.
