Located near the lakefront in the Riesbach district, Zurich Opera House hides a lavish interior behind its neoclassical facade. Since 1891, the venue has staged a varied repertoire of opera, ballet, concerts and recitals, including numerous world premieres.
Cultural highlights have included the first legal performances of Parsifal outside Bayreuth, the première of Alban Berg's Lulu and the first staging of Schoenberg's Moses and Aaron.
