    Madrid:

Originally built in 1850 in the Palacio district, Teatro Real was renovated and reopened in 1997. Today it is renowned for its state-of the-art acoustics, hosting opera, concerts and ballet. It is home to the Madrid Symphony Orchestra and Choir.

One of the most beautiful of European lyric theatres, it can seat between 1440 and 1750, depending on the size of orchestra (and whether it is needed at all).

In addition to the main house, there are different halls throughout the building, decorated with works of art from the Prado and the Reina Sofía Museum.
