    Paris:

In a stunning 1930s-era palace, opposite the Eiffel Tower, the Palais de Tokyo is a cutting-edge contemporary art museum. It houses an ever-changing succession of avant-garde and wacky installations that help visitors break away from traditional perceptions of art.

With its relaxed opening hours and chic ambience, it is considered by many as the hippest art venue in the city. Situated in the well-off 16th District overlooking the Seine, visitors are informed that, despite the public's occasionally frosty relationship with modern art, the Palais is a "laboratory of good intentions".

The Palais has the capacity to make every other art gallery appear stale and unwelcoming. The interior is light and tries to make the visitor feel free, while the whole experience is geared towards making the presention of modern art less rigid and partitioned. Much more than just a museum, not only is there a plethora of guides to aid you with all your queries, but also sets from DJs that provide chilled late-night art viewing until midnight.

With permanent exhibits and temporary exhibitions, the gallery is always worth a visit - check its website for further information.
