The National Museum of Ireland - Decorative Arts & History at Dublin's Collins Barracks has a wide-ranging collection including weaponry, furniture, silver, ceramics, glassware and costume. History sections explore the Irish at War and the 1916 Easter Rising.

The museum is housed at Collins Barracks, the construction of which started in 1702, designed by Captain Thomas Burgh. Today it comprises 18th- and 19th-century buildings which housed troops continuously over three centuries and were known as the Royal Barracks from the 19th century. In 1922 the whole complex was handed over to the Free State army and immediately named Collins Barracks after Michael Collins, the first commander-in-chief of the Irish Free State. It was assigned to the National Museum of Ireland in 1994, renovated, restored and re-opened in 1997 as the National Museum of Decorative Arts & History.
