Housed in the former Löwenbräu brewery in the Zuri-West district, Kunsthalle Zurich stages temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. Challenging convention and cultivating new talent, the gallery focuses predominantly on solo exhibitions, working in close cooperation with featured artists.
The Verein Kunsthalle Zürich was founded in 1985 to complement the Kunsthaus Zürich. Soon after, the Migros Museum of Contemporary Art and a few private galleries moved into the same complex, creating the city's newest centre of contemporary art.
