    Paris:

More a stately home than a museum, the Jacquemart-André Museum, near the Champs-Elysées, is the treasure trove of a couple devoted to 17th- and 18th-century art and furniture. In the gilt-clad salons, admire works by Bellini and Rembrandt.

The Jacquemart-André Museum is composed of a number of grands salons and petits salons, a winter garden, an Italian museum and luxurious apartments. Beautiful collections add to the sumptuousness of the decor.

The highlight of the Jacquemart-André Museum is its broad Italian collection. The Italian sculpture collection (among the most extensive in France) displays works from the 15th and 16th century by artists such as Donatello. The Venetian and Florentine schools are also represented with paintings by Mantegna, Carpaccio and Botticelli.

Visitors can also view old Dutch masters, including Van Dyck, and 18th-century French painting by Boucher and Canaletto.
