Highlights at the Cinquantenaire Museum include a Roman, 4th-century AD mosaic from Syria, Chinese treasures and a gigantic Easter Island statue. You'll also find a good selection of Decorative Arts, from Roman times to Art Deco.

The creator of Tintin, Hergé, grew up near this museum and sought inspiration here. Buy the book, Musée en Bulles, at the museum to see how some of its most famous pieces were transformed into cartoons.

The museum is part of the Royal Museums of Art and History, which also include the spectacular Museum of Musical Instruments and the Far-East Museum.
