Chelsea Physic Garden is one of London's great undiscovered secrets - a delightful isle of abundant planting tucked into the city centre. Visitors can admire one of Europe's oldest rock gardens and an amazing selection of rare and exotic plants.
The garden was founded in 1673 by the Society of Apothecaries to help them study plants' healing effects. It still includes an area showing the history of medicinal plants and an ethnobotanical garden of world medicine. Visitors are invited to view the famed snowdrops, of which there are many different species, to welcome the spring.
