Set in the Schaerbeek district, Autrique House is the first hôtel particulier designed by Art Nouveau darling Victor Horta in 1893. Now a museum, the house is filled with graceful corridors, asymmetrical shapes, curvy staircases and Horta's revolutionary use of metal.

Louis Vuitton was one of the corporate sponsors who financed the transformation from abandoned building to an atmospheric recreation of the past. Opened in December 2004, it is a bit of a secret, even to the locals.

Victor Horta's first townhouse was commissioned in 1893 by his personal friend Eugène Autrique, an engineer (and fellow freemason). Today, the Autrique House holds facilities for conferences, concerts exhibitions, childrens' workshops and a museum shop.
