A city in northern Italy known both for tourism and for industry, and is the capital of the region Veneto.Venice, Italy (Venezia in Italian) is still one of the most fantastic and lovely places in the world. This sanctuary on a lagoon is virtually the same as it was six hundred years ago, which adds to the fascinating character. Because Venice is on a lagoon, the water plays a crucial role in transportation. The most popular way to approach Venice is by boat or train, there are no cars in Venice and bicycles are not allowed. Don't miss the Rialto Bridge (Italian: Ponte di Rialto) on San Polo and the Rialto market before the Rialto bridge on the left. Venice also have a shopping market for the biggest Italian brands, a stay in Venice is not cheap if you are looking for a room for your own, if you are travelling with a group of friends you can find a hostel with shared room cheaper than 20 euros per person / per day. For label clothing shopping, the best area is that around the Piazza San Marco, where you can find Versace, MaxMara, Gucci, Armani, Louis Vuitton, Prada and numerous more big names. If you are presentable, and you plan to stay in Venice for at least a few weeks, drop into the apartment rentals or hostels. These are usually the minimum budget stay and they offer the cheapest prices.

Clean room, comfortable beds, bathroom in disrepair with no drainage, lights next to the beds not working (just the main light), no free parking provided (and I think that the ad said that there should be). The staff speak English with hard to understand Indian or Pakistani accent. But overall it provided what we needed.

This could be a nice place to be, but it badly needs an investment of some 10000 Euros in new furniture and sanitary installations. The reception service is bad and the owner is a bit greedy.

Lovely place, clean and organised. But wifi is only in the reception area and they do not have aircon. Venice can get extremely hot during Summer! Other than that, the location is perfect and the staff are friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Quite a good location. Facilities and breakfst quite basic. Internet ok. Other hostellers were quite a friendly bunch - mostly Mexicans and Spanish which gave me a welcome chance to brush up on my language skills. The funniest part was swapping my Irish (Gaelic) for Basque. This drew a number of puzzled looks from the latinos.

I warned host that the extreme flooding in Venice coupled with my injured foot and inability to carry heavy suitcase thru floodwaters will prevent my stay. I ask for refund of 1 night, not both nights. I got no reply at all. I thought this was reasonable.

Sietse From Netherlands On November 30, -0001

We really enjoyed our stay in the Belvedere hostel. Its a perfect venue for a cheap visit to Venice, because of really good public transport connections. The hostel is a bit old, but rooms and showers are perfectly fine. However, the restaurant/bar is not available anymore in contrary to the information provided online. Which wasn’t a problem for us. The staff is as friendly as it can get. I would recommend this hostel 100%.

They wanted to make me pay 5 euros /day city tax, while the current rate is 1.4 euros / day (I negotiated to paid 2.5 euros /day, which is more than current price). On their website is written that you have free towels in private rooms, but they wanted to make me pay (which I refused to pay). The person at desk was not there when I arrived at 22:30 although I had communicated through email my arrival time and I had to wait for them. The first night the heating system was turned off and it was cold. There was no toilet paper in the restroom and the WC was clogged (which they repaired the following day). The extra blanket in the bedroom was dirty.

The room appears. dirty room and no wi-fi available.
